About Union Station

Union Station is a revitalized intermodal transportation center and a vibrant symbol of downtown Springfield’s renaissance. With local and long-distance buses, a 377-space parking garage, dining, retail and office space, Union Station has been called the "compass rose" of mass transit in New England.

Ownership

The Springfield Redevelopment Authority is a corporate and political body established by the City of Springfield on June 24, 1960. For more than six decades, the Springfield Redevelopment Authority has been a key component in keeping the City of Springfield a vital place, serving the city by using its resources to aid Economic Development for its residents. The SRA is currently led by a five-member board, comprised of four Mayoral appointments and a Governor appointment. Since its creation, the Springfield Redevelopment Authority has been involved in more than 35 Urban Renewal Plans throughout the City.

Management

The Springfield Redevelopment Authority has retained Appleton Corporation, an O’Connell Company Division, to manage the facility.

For 50 years, Appleton has provided comprehensive commercial and residential property management, facilities support management, accounting and financial services to property owners, governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations of all sizes.  

The management team at Union Station is committed to assisting the Springfield Redevelopment Authority in achieving their goal of providing a clean, comfortable environment for the millions of visitors that travel through the station annually.

Security

Union Station Security: (413) 776-1612

Security at Springfield Union Station is a top priority. MJ Norton provides around the clock security 365 days a year. MJ Norton Security is a fully licensed, insured and bonded security firm located in Springfield with almost ten years in the security business. The Springfield Police Department and the Amtrak Police Department both maintain a presence in the facility. With continual rounds and over 250 security cameras, visitors and tenants can be assured of a safe and secure environment.
