Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kick-Off the Festive Holiday Travel Season at Union Station

At 10:30 am on Friday November 22nd, and in partnership with the Community Music School of Springfield, the Springfield Redevelopment Authority will host their fourth annual tree lighting ceremony at Union Station.

The historic concourse will be filled with holiday cheer when Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno kicks-off the busy holiday travel season, lighting the tree and setting the Amherst Railway Society model train chugging its way around the base.

Talented musicians from the Community Music School of Springfield, under the direction of String City Orchestra co-director Will Losch, will perform a medley of holiday songs.

Bring the kids because this year, for the very first time, Santa Claus himself is expected to be in attendance!
