Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
At 1:45 pm on Monday, November 24th, and in partnership with the Community Music School of Springfield, the Springfield Redevelopment Authority will host their fifth annual tree lighting ceremony at Union Station.
The historic concourse will be filled with holiday cheer when Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno, Congressman Richie Neal, Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi, and SPD Superintendent Lawrence Akers kick off the busy holiday travel season together, lighting the tree and setting the Amherst Railway Society model train chugging its way through the boughs.
Talented musicians from the Community Music School of Springfield, under the direction of String City Orchestra director Will Losch, will perform.
Bring the kids because Santa Claus himself is expected to be in attendance!
